MEET
I'm Carl, the landlord.
Bastian Walner. Nice to meet you.
I see the building is in good hands.

DISCUSS THE WEATHER
According to the latest forecast, we can look forward to gray skies and heavy humidity for the immediate future. If you've been dreaming of a sunny day, snap out of it!
I am not upset about it because I am busy on my work most of the time...

FIND OUT WHAT HE WANTS
What do you want?
Carl, I have a delicate - or should I say very personal - request...
It's your job to supervise the building, right? Could you...keep an eye on my wife?
Why?
I'm just… I'm not a fool, Carl. I know she's way out of my league.
I'm just an engineer on a fixed payroll. And I'm not handsome, either. But she... She's pretty and smart!
Smart? Well, yes, in a way...
I spend most of my time at work. And I'm afraid to leave her alone. Admirers are flocking around her.
Could you keep an eye on her?
You want me to catch your wife cheating on you. Is that right?
Or not cheating! Please... Please let that be the case!
I'll think about it.
Thank you, Carl! I owe you!
DISCUSS HIS WIFE'S INFIDELITY
I'm here about that delicate request of yours.
Did you find out something?

TELL ON CLARA
I'm afraid it's bad news. She's cheating on you with your boss.
This can't be! It's a lie!
I have proof.
Give it to me! WAIT! No. No. Don't. My heart will break if I see it.
Goddammit! Why?! My life is over...
I'm sorry, Bastian. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss…
So they could keep fooling around behind my back? No way!
Carl, there's one more thing I'd like to ask you to do. I'd be crushed, and I don't know what I'd do if it's true...
Could you please store my blueprints in a safe place? They're classified, and I can't afford to lose them.
It looks like you're the only trustworthy person in this building.
COVER FOR CLARA
I found nothing. Your wife is an angel.
What a relief! Thank you, Carl! We should celebrate!
There's one more favor I'd like to ask of you.
Please take these important papers and put them in storage. I have no safe, and am afraid of losing them. I'll pick them up in a couple of days.
You're the only one in this building I can trust. You and my Clara, of course!
REFUSE
I'm not going to spy on your wife and dig through your dirty laundry.
That's a shame. Well, I'll deal with it on my own.
TALK LATER
Let's talk about it later.
Don't procrastinate, Carl. My life is hell...
I can't work... The very thought of my wife cheating on me is killing me...

How's your wife?
Ex-wife!
She left me, the damned cheater! And my boss fired me!
All I have left to do is drink myself to oblivion...
DISCUSS CLARA
How's your wife?
All is well; we're getting along fine.
FIND OUT WHAT HE WANTS
What do you want?
Give me back the blueprints. I'm fine.

RETURN
Please.
Thank you, Carl! I knew I could count on you.
Money+3,000
BRIBE (-$5,000)
Unfortunately, my dog ate the blueprints. But I'll repay you.
Since when do you have a dog? Damn you, Carl! How will I explain that at work?
Give me that money. I'll try to buy a copy from another department.
Money-5,000
I'll complain! Those are classified documents; our national security depends on them!
You'll be arrested, Carl.
BRIBE (-1,000 reputation points)
The blueprints were passed to management. That's safer.
Damn you, Carl! How will I explain that to my boss?
I'll be executed for negligence and treason! I must move out at once!
Reputation-1,000
I'll complain! Those are classified documents; our national security depends on them!
You'll be arrested, Carl.

DISCUSS PLANS
What are you going to do?
Oh my God... My life is over...
For the first time in my life, I have nothing: no wife, no job, no plan for what to do next...
I guess the best thing to do is leave without saying goodbye.
Planning to move out?
Sort of...
